The RBC DI Community Contest (the “Contest”) begins on April 1, 2015 and ends on December 27, 2015 at 11:59 PM ET (the “Contest Period”).
The Contest is open to all members of the RBC DI Community (the “Community Members”) who are residents of Canada and who have reached the legal age of majority in their province/territory of residence at the time of entry. The Contest is not open to employees, representatives or agents (and those with whom such persons are domiciled, whether related or not) of (i) RBC DI, (ii) RBC DI’s subsidiaries, affiliates, prize suppliers and advertising/promotion agencies, and (iii) any entity involved in the development, production, implementation, administration, judging or fulfillment of the Contest (collectively, the “Contest Parties”). In addition, the Contest is not open to the public or to persons who are not residents of Canada. RBC DI is only available in Canada.
On each of the dates in the left column of the table below (each a “Data Pull Date”), RBC DI will collect information from its RBC DI Community database for the purposes of determining eligible Community Members. To be eligible for the Contest, you must be registered as a Community Member (see rule 4 on registration) prior to at least one of the scheduled Data Pull Dates. Only Community Members on record as of a particular Data Pull Date will be included in the subsequent monthly random draw for prizes (see right column of the table below). There will be nine (9) scheduled Data Pull Dates during the Contest Period, as follows:

Should you become a Community Member after one of the Data Pull Dates, your name will not be included in the random monthly draw until the first draw following the next scheduled Data Pull Date, and then all monthly draws thereafter for so long as you remain a Community Member.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. All Community Members on record as of each Data Pull Date are automatically entered into the Contest. If you are not a Community Member and wish to enter the Contest, you may do so by going to the RBC DI online investing site and registering as a Community Member. Please note that RBC DI Community membership is only open to RBC DI clients and RBC Online Banking clients with an RBC DI Practice Account. If you would like to open an RBC DI account, click here . To open an RBC DI Practice Account, click here . To be eligible for the Contest, you must be registered as a Community Member prior to at least one of the nine (9) scheduled Data Pull Dates. If you are a Community Member and do not wish to be included in the Contest, you may opt out by contacting RBC DI using either of the methods described at the start of these rules.
There will be three (3) $1,000 cash prizes (each a “Prize”) available to be won each month during the Contest Period. Each Prize must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable or assignable (except as may be specifically permitted by RBC DI in its sole and absolute discretion). A Prize will only be awarded to a Community Member whose verifiable full name and valid mailing address appears on RBC DI’s records. There is no limit to the number of Prizes an entrant can win during the Contest Period, although an entrant cannot win more than one (1) Prize per monthly draw.
On each monthly draw date (see right column of the table in rule 3), an independent administrator will select, by random draw taking place in Oakville, Ontario, three (3) entrants (one (1) entrant for each of the three (3) monthly Prizes) from all eligible Community Members. The odds of winning a Prize in any given month during the Contest Period depend on the total number of eligible Community Members at the time of the relevant monthly Data Pull Date.
RBC DI or its designated representative will notify the selected entrants by mail courier (using the information in RBC DI’s records) within three (3) business days of the applicable draw date. If a selected entrant does not respond by the date identified on the Declaration and Release Form included in that entrant’s courier package (the “Form”), or if that entrant’s courier package is returned as being undeliverable, then that entrant may, in the sole and absolute discretion of RBC DI, be disqualified (and, if disqualified, will forfeit all rights to a Prize), and RBC DI reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to randomly select an alternate entrant from among the remaining eligible Community Members (in which case the foregoing provisions of this rule 6 shall apply to such newly selected Community Member).
BEFORE BEING DECLARED A CONFIRMED PRIZE WINNER, each selected entrant will be required to: (a) correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without mechanical or other aid; and (b) sign and return the Form by the date identified thereon, which Form (among other things): (i) confirms compliance with these rules; (ii) acknowledges acceptance of a Prize (as awarded); (iii) releases the Contest Parties and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability in connection with the Contest, the entrant’s participation therein and/or the awarding and use/misuse of a Prize or any portion thereof; and (iv) agrees to the publication of the entrant’s RBC DI Community user name as a winner. If a selected entrant: (a) fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question within the specified time; (b) fails to return the properly executed Form and any other Contest documents within the specified time; (c) cannot accept (or is unwilling to accept) a Prize (as awarded) for any reason; and/or (d) is determined to be in violation of these rules (all as determined by RBC DI in its sole and absolute discretion), then such entrant may, in the sole and absolute discretion of RBC DI, be disqualified (and, if disqualified, will forfeit all rights to a Prize), and RBC DI reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to randomly select an alternate entrant from among the remaining eligible Community Members (in which case the foregoing provisions of this rule 6 shall apply to such newly selected Community Member).
The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. The decisions of RBC DI with respect to all aspects of the Contest are final and binding on all entrants without right of appeal, including, without limitation, any decisions regarding the eligibility/disqualification of entries and/or entrants. By participating in the Contest, you are agreeing to be legally bound by the terms and conditions of these rules.
The Released Parties will not be liable for: (i) any failure of RBC DI’s website during the Contest Period; (ii) any technical malfunction or other problems relating to RBC DI’s telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment or software; (iii) the failure of any Contest entry to be received, captured or recorded for any reason, including, but not limited to, technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website; (iv) any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer or other device related to or resulting from participation in the Contest; and/or (v) any combination of the above.
RBC DI reserves the right, subject only to the approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (the “Régie”) in Quebec, to withdraw, amend or suspend the Contest (or to amend these rules) in any way as a result of any technical or other problems or for any other reason, at the sole and absolute discretion of RBC DI. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest in any way (as determined by RBC DI in its sole and absolute discretion) may be a violation of criminal and/or civil laws and should such an attempt be made, RBC DI reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law. RBC DI also reserves the right to disqualify any entrant and void that entrant’s Contest entries if RBC DI believes, in its sole and absolute discretion, that that entrant has in any way interfered with the administration, fairness or integrity of the Contest. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, RBC DI reserves the right to administer an alternate test of skill for selected Contest entrants as it deems appropriate based on the circumstances and/or to comply with applicable law.
For Quebec residents: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a Prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
By entering the Contest, you expressly consent to RBC DI, its agents and/or representatives storing, sharing and using your personal information only for the purpose of administering the Contest and in accordance with RBC DI’s privacy policy (available at: http://www.rbc.com/privacysecurity/ca/our-privacy-policy.html ).
In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of these English rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials, including, but not limited to, the RBC DI website, the French version of these rules or print or online advertising, the terms and conditions of these English rules shall prevail to the fullest extent permitted by law.
